Hello,
Markets opened lower but managed to close higher, despite the release of underwhelming U.S. jobs data later on Friday. In corporate developments, Airtel Finance introduced a fixed deposit service in partnership with NBFCs and small finance banks. Meanwhile, Ather Energy filed draft papers for a fresh share issue valued at Rs 3,100 crore. Additionally, GMR Airports boosted its stake in Delhi Airport to 74% by acquiring Fraport's 10% stake for ₹1,058 crore.

As of 09/09/24

  • Indian benchmark indices closed higher amid volatility ahead of the US Fed meeting. On Monday, September 9, the Sensex and Nifty 50 recorded solid gains, driven by strong performances from key banking and FMCG stocks, including ICICI Bank, ITC, HDFC Bank, and Hindustan Unilever (HUL) despite pushback from IT stocks.

  • The rupee resists risk-aversion pressure affecting Asian peers and ends flat.
