India’s First Chip to Launch in September
Hello,
Markets extended their losing streak, with the Nifty closing below 23,000 as global trade tensions dampened sentiment. U.S. President Donald Trump’s directive to draft reciprocal tariffs on countries taxing U.S. imports raised concerns over India's exposure. Meanwhile, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that India's first indigenous semiconductor chip will be unveiled in September. In corporate developments, Fortis Healthcare is set to acquire Shrimann Superspeciality Hospital in Punjab for ₹462 crore, while Tata Steel plans to raise ₹3,000 crore through NCDs via private placement.

As of 14/02/25
Indian stocks extended their losing streak to the eighth straight session on February 14, as escalating global trade tensions weighed on sentiment. U.S. President Donald Trump directed his economic team to draft plans for reciprocal tariffs on nations taxing U.S. imports, raising concerns about India's exposure.
Despite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's offer to ease tariffs, boost U.S. oil and gas purchases, and discuss defense deals, market sentiment remained weak.
Investors fear the impact on the rupee and potential outflows from emerging markets, with FPIs pulling ₹1.12 lakh crore from Indian exchanges in less than two months.
While domestic mutual funds are absorbing some of the selling, pressure from HNIs, family offices, AIFs, and retail investors continues to weigh on markets.
