Jio-BlackRock Debuts Strong with $2Bn Fundraise
Hello,
Markets closed flat on Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of the July 9 deadline for the India–US trade deal, with uncertainty around the negotiations keeping sentiment muted.
In key developments, JioBlackRock marked a strong debut by raising $2 billion in its maiden NFO, entering India's top 15 fund houses. Real estate platform Square Yards is set to raise $233 million through an IPO at a $2 billion valuation. Meanwhile, Capgemini announced the acquisition of WNS for $3.3 billion, aiming to strengthen its AI capabilities.

As of 07/07/25
Indian stock market benchmarks — the Sensex and the Nifty 50 — ended flat on Monday, July 7, amid India-US trade deal uncertainty.
It was a subdued session for the Indian stock market, with benchmark indices ending largely flat as caution prevailed ahead of the July 9 deadline for the India–US trade deal. Uncertainty over the ongoing negotiations kept investors on the sidelines.
Adding to the cautious tone, sentiment was dampened by SEBI’s report on Jane Street, which weighed on market momentum and kept stock movements rangebound.
However, pockets of strength were seen in FMCG and Oil & Gas stocks, supported by falling crude prices and early signs of a demand recovery in urban India during the June quarter.
Meanwhile, trade talks between India and the US have hit a roadblock, with the White House reportedly pressing New Delhi to open access to sensitive sectors like agriculture and dairy—demands India continues to resist in order to safeguard its farmers’ interests.
