Markets Soar! Reliance Boosts Markets to Record Highs

Find out why.

Hello,
Markets reached record highs yesterday, largely driven by Reliance Industries, India’s most valuable company by market capitalization. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced the UPI ICD facility, enabling cash deposits at ATMs using UPI. Baazar Style Retail has raised Rs 250 crore through its anchor book, with IPO subscription beginning today. Please note that today’s newsletter may appear shorter, as yesterday was relatively quiet in terms of news.

Happy Weekend!

As of 29/08/24

  • While the main indices posted decent gains, mid and small-cap indices ended lower due to mixed global cues and a lack of new domestic triggers.

  • Reliance Industries emerged as the biggest contributor, rising 1.51% to ₹3,040.85 after announcing a 1:1 bonus issue.
