PhysicsWallah Files for ₹4,600 cr IPO

Hello,
Markets surged on Tuesday, with all sectoral indices closing higher, driven by valuation comfort, especially in large caps. India and New Zealand aim to finalize an FTA within 60 days, while Paytm Money has secured SEBI approval to operate as a research analyst. PhysicsWallah has confidentially filed for a ₹4,600 crore IPO, and Amazon is exploring an India IPO alongside a potential country unit spin-off. Meanwhile, Nikhil Kamath’s Gruhas has teamed up with Brigade Group to launch the ₹300 crore Earth Fund, supporting prop-tech and sustainability startups.

As of 18/03/25

  • Despite global uncertainty from Trump's tariff policies and rising geopolitical tensions, Indian markets surged on Tuesday. The Sensex soared over 1,200 points, while the Nifty 50 reclaimed 22,850 amid broad-based buying.

  • Midcap and Smallcap indices gained up to 3%, with Nifty Media and Realty leading sectoral gains.

  • Valuation comfort, particularly in large caps, is driving the rally. The Nifty 50’s PE ratio, at 20, is near a three-month low.

  • With inflation below RBI’s 4% target, expectations of rate cuts are rising. SBI Research predicts a total 75 bps repo rate cut in 2025, with 25 bps reductions in April, June, and October.
